Important Information For Patients

Important information about your surgery on 22nd July 2021  from 12.30  until 4.30pm  

 

Please be aware that on 22nd July 2021  from 12.30-4.30 pm  the surgery will be closed. However, there are a number of ways in which you can still access services from your Bexley GP and nurse.

 

·         If you have an urgent medical problem and are unsure what to do NHS 111 can be contacted by dialling 111 or online at 111.nhs.uk

·         If you need an appointment with one of our GPs between 12.30-4.30 pm  on this day please call 0203 910 7204  or call NHS111 or 999 in case of an Emergency  .

 

Services at the practice will fully resume from 5.00pm.

on Various dates in July/August   Bursted Wood Surgery will be a designated covid vaccination site from 8am until 8.00pm. This is only for the patients who have been invited for vaccination. Therefore, please do not visit the surgery on those days for any reason.

Please do not contact the surgery about the covid vaccination if you have not been invited.  Normal services to all Bursted Wood patients will continue with some patients being seen off site on these days.

Important information regarding your covid-19 vaccination status proof.

The surgery is unable to issue a letter or certificate confirming your vaccination status for overseas travel. Please see Government guidance for further information. Proof of your vaccination status is visible within the NHS app, which is available for Apple and Android devices.


Alternatively, you can call the NHS Covid-19 helpline on 119 and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least five days after you have completed your course of the vaccine, the letter may to take up to seven days to reach you.

Please check Foreign Office and local travel advice for specific details of whether proof of vaccination status is accepted at your destination. The majority of countries, including the UK, still require arrivals to participate in a Covid-19 testing, isolation and/or quarantine regime, regardless of your vaccination status.

Coronavirus & Face Coverings

As a practice we are not able to provide any patient with an exemption certificate or letter.  The risks of Covid-19 infection is still significant so please wear face coverings. Should you feel that you should be exempt from wearing a face covering please download an exemption card.

Coronavirus

Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms.

Stay at home for 7 days if you have either:
- a high temperature (of 37.8 degrees centigrade or higher)
- a new, continuous cough
- loss of/change in smell or taste

Do not go to a GP Surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying home.

Urgent advice: Use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service if:
- you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home
- your condition gets worse
- your symptoms do not get better after 7 days

Use the 111 coronavirus service

Only call 111 if you cannot get help online.

Flu Clinics 

The 2021/2022 Flu clinics are now available to book at the surgery.

Please contact reception to book your appointment .

The First available clinic will be saturday 25th september  9.00am  till 12.00noon 

followed by Wednesday 29th all day 9.00am to 16.00pm.

Further clinics will be published soon.

About Us

Our purpose built Surgery, which opened in 1986 provides, in addition to the consulting rooms, a large and comfortable waiting area with a specially designed children's play area.

Access - Car Parking

There is a free car park adjacent to the Surgery, which is for patients and surgery staff.

Disabled Access

The Practice has limited access for wheelchairs via a ramp from the car park to the main entrance.  We can also provide a portable ramp for further assistance at the doorway into the Surgery.  You may telephone reception in advance of your visit for this to be in place on your
